State Member for Wallsend, Ms Sonia Hornery MP, has called on the Government to fix the crisis facing the Emergency Department at the John Hunter Hospital.
Patients in NSW hospitals are facing long wait times in emergency departments with data from the Bureau of Health Information listing John Hunter Hospital as one of the worst performers.
The John Hunter Hospital saw 35 per cent of patients wait for more than four hours in the October to December 2016 reporting quarter, well above the state average.
Statewide, 25.7 per cent of patients waited longer than four hours in emergency departments.
