State Member for Wallsend, Ms Sonia Hornery MP, has welcomed the news that the new Wallsend Fire Station 484 will come online today, with staff expected to start moving in.

The new facility will replace the almost 100 year old historical Wallsend Fire Station in Devon Street, Wallsend.

The Station has been in the pipeline for a number of years and has upgraded facilities, more storage for equipment and a double engine bay.
