In Australia, we have three different levels of government: Local, State and Federal.

Each level of government is responsible for delivering specific services to our community. If you are unsure about which level of government is responsible for addressing a particular issue, please contact my office and I can direct you to the right place.

NSW State Government

The following issues are the responsibility of State Government:
  • Education and TAFE
  • Emergency Services
  • Fair Trading
  • Health
  • Housing NSW
  • Public Hospitals
  • Industrial Relations
  • Medical Research
  • National Parks
  • NSW Police
  • Primary Industries and Agriculture
  • Public Housing
  • Public Transport
  • Public Works
  • State Roads

If you live in the Wallsend Electorate and your concerns relate to one of the categories above I may be able to help by seeking information and making representations to the relevant Department or Minister.

If you reside outside of the state electorate of Wallsend, I recommend you forward your concerns to your local State Member of Parliament. If you are unsure of your electoral district you can look this up through the NSW Electoral Commission.

Local Government

The following issues are the responsibility of Local Government:
  • Local Roads and footpaths
  • Libraries
  • Parking
  • Pets and animals
  • Playgrounds and skate parks
  • Pools
  • Rates
  • Residential and commercial development
  • Sporting fields and parks
  • Street lighting and signage
  • Trees on Council land
  • Waste and recycling

If your concerns relate to one of the categories above you will need to contact Council initially, and follow up with your elected representatives at a Local Government level if you need to.
