State Member for Wallsend, Ms Sonia Hornery MP, has secured grant funding of $329,231 for a number of projects as part of the 2018 Community Building Partnership (CBP) program.
The funds are for new community infrastructure projects that will enhance much needed local facilities.
The funding aims to create more vibrant and inclusive communities and deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes.
Some of the key projects which successfully obtained a grant include:
• Lambton/Waratah Scout Group – $25,059 for the construction of an indoor bathroom at the Lambton/Waratah Scout Hall.
• Plattsburg Park Baseball Facility – $25,000 for a facility upgrade and realignment.
• Glendore Public School – $30,000 for the construction of a new basketball court.
• Zara’s House – $30,000 for an upgrade to the existing facility to make it a welcoming home for refugees.
