Quotes attributable to Member for Wallsend, Sonia Hornery
“Ada is a great credit to the Wallsend community, an embodiment of our volunteer spirit and desire to help out.”
“This year she raised $6,000, including $1,000 for the Mark Hughes Foundation Beanies for Cancer, which beats out her previous record made in 2016, when she brought in an impressive $4,615.”
“Ada never stops giving. I am not sure where she finds the energy to continue to do all the work she does. At age 88, she continues to work tirelessly every year for her morning tea, often getting up at 4am on the day to bake more than 100 scones for the people who drop by early on their way to work.”
“She is thoroughly deserving of this Premier’s Award for all of her efforts to help raise money for our community.”
“I salute Ada for all her hard work and look forward to next year’s Biggest Morning Tea.”
