State Member for Wallsend, Ms Sonia Hornery MP, has today announced that Amber Sauni is the 2020 Wallsend Local Woman of the Year.
Ms Hornery nominated Amber for the award, based on the design and construction of the portable outdoor cooking and food preparation unit, ‘The Movable Feast’, which is designed to make good, healthy food preparation and meals more accessible and encourage community participation.
Amber is an Architecture PhD candidate at the University of Newcastle, a first-generation immigrant who has overcome challenging circumstances to become a tireless advocate for vulnerable people in society.
Amber will be presented the Award this morning at a gala breakfast in Sydney with other women from across New South Wales.

“Amber has overcome a lot of challenges in her life, and she is a kind, empathetic person who is committed to making our community more accessible, inclusive and stronger.”
“It will be my pleasure to join Amber for breakfast this morning and celebrate her achievements and the achievements of extraordinary women from across New South Wales.”
