$50,000 For Local Sporting Groups

State Member for Wallsend, Ms Sonia Hornery MP, is calling on sporting groups to apply for the Local Sport Grant Program.

The Local Sport Grant Program aims to increase regular and on-going participation opportunities in sport and active recreation.

Sport and active recreation can also contribute to a range of government priorities including tackling childhood obesity and building safer communities.

There are four project types within the Program:
1. Sport Club Development (up to $2,000)
2. Community Sport Events (up to $5,000)
3. Sport Access (up to $5,000)
4. Facility Development and Capital Equipment (up to $20,000)

Applications for the Local Sport Grant Program are now open and will close on 6 October, 2017.
