Community Forums in Wallsend

Media Releases

Shadow Minister for Justice and Police, Corrections and Emergency Services, Mr Guy Zangari MP, and State Member for Wallsend, Ms Sonia Hornery MP, will hold community forums across the Wallsend Electorate today.

The forums will be an opportunity for local residents to hear from the Shadow Minister and raise issues they feel are important to them.

The O’Farrell-Baird-Berejiklian Government has continued to ignore the western suburbs of Newcastle and pleas for an increased Police presence and improved emergency services have been ignored.

Quotes attributable to Shadow Minister for Justice and Police, Corrections and Emergency Services Guy Zangari

“It’s great to have the opportunity to meet with residents from Wallsend to listen to their concerns regarding policing in the area.”

“Everyone has the right to feel safe in their own community. Wallsend deserves a well-staffed and resourced Police Station.”

“I encourage all local residents to support Ms Hornery’s petition to have a greater police presence in the area.”

Quotes attributable to Member for Wallsend, Sonia Hornery

“As the State Member, it is important for me to listen to what the community is saying and these forums will be an opportunity for the community to let us know what is important to them.”

“Since I was elected to Parliament, I have raised the issue of the Wallsend Police Station and the need for a greater Police presence in the area.”

“I have also been raising the issue of the Beresfield Police Station and the need for a greater Police presence in that area, since Beresfield and Tarro moved into the Wallsend Electorate in 2015.”
