State Member for Wallsend, Ms Sonia Hornery MP, has today advised motorists that major road works will commence on the M1 Pacific Motorway upgrade, at the intersection of Weakleys Drive and John Renshaw Drive, at Beresfield.
The first stage of work will involve the removal of traffic islands, infilling the roundabout, widening road shoulders and placing barriers.
The night work program will commence from Tuesday 3 April and will take place between 7.00pm and 4.30am from Sunday nights to Friday mornings. Day work will start once traffic barriers and line marking are in place.
Construction is expected to be complete in early 2019, weather permitting.
