Seniors to be honoured with Awards

State Member for Wallsend, Ms Sonia Hornery MP, will today present a number of outstanding local seniors and seniors groups with the 2017 NSW Seniors Local Achievement Award.

The 2017 NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards celebrate seniors’ achievements in a range of categories, including business, environment, science, agriculture, health and wellbeing, learning and community service.

More than 20 applications were received and the winners will presented this afternoon at a ceremony.

Mrs Denise Collins – Service to the Wallsend Red Cross and Toastmasters Club.

Hunter Region Vietnam Veterans Inc – More than 20 years support for the Veteran community.

The Leopard Ladies – For continued support of those is need in our community.

Beresfield Senior Citizens Club – For continued support and service to the Beresfield community.

Zara’s House for Refugee Women – For continued support for refugee women in our community.
