State Member for Wallsend, Ms Sonia Hornery MP, has vowed to step up the campaign to fix flooding issues in Wallsend after water came within inches of flooding the Wallsend Town Centre yesterday.
Wallsend received more than 150mm of rain yesterday and that was enough to bring the water levels in Ironbark Creek to the very top of the storm water drains.
Thankfully conditions eased and Wallsend was spared any damaging flooding in the CBD.
